LS1–LS29 · West Yorkshire

Leeds has one of the largest stocks of Victorian back-to-back and through terraces in the country, plus dense student rentals around Headingley and Hyde Park. Solid brick walls stay cold, and busy shared houses produce a lot of moisture from cooking, showers and drying clothes indoors.

S1–S36 · South Yorkshire

Sheffield's hillside stone and brick terraces in areas like Walkley, Crookes and Hillsborough often face cold north or east winds and have no cavity to insulate. Inter-war estates on the outer ring add thin walls and small, poorly vented bathrooms.

BD1–BD22 · West Yorkshire

Bradford sits in a wet Pennine valley, with stone mill-worker terraces and back-to-backs in Manningham, Shipley and beyond. Thick but uninsulated stone walls stay cold, and heavy rainfall can drive damp into weather-facing elevations.

HU1–HU17 · East Yorkshire

Hull sits low on the Humber estuary with high year-round humidity. Older brick terraces and post-war estates can carry a legacy of flooding, and cold coastal winds chill external walls.

YO1–YO32 · North Yorkshire

York's historic brick and timber properties near the Ouse and Foss, and its many rentals, holiday lets and shared houses, often have limited airflow. Older buildings were designed to breathe, and modern sealing can trap moisture.

HD1–HD9 · West Yorkshire

Huddersfield's hillside stone terraces in the Colne and Holme valleys catch heavy Pennine rain. Cold external walls and small, unventilated bathrooms are common.

DN1–DN12 · South Yorkshire

Doncaster has a lot of Edwardian and former colliery housing on low-lying clay near the River Don. Older damp-proof courses and a high water table can combine with everyday condensation.

WF1–WF17 · West Yorkshire

Wakefield mixes solid-wall Victorian terraces with inter-war and post-war social housing, much of it with weak or no mechanical extraction in kitchens and bathrooms.

HX1–HX7 · West Yorkshire

Halifax sits in the deep Calder Valley with some of the wettest weather in England. Porous sandstone hillside terraces can soak up driving rain on exposed walls.

HG1–HG5 · North Yorkshire

Harrogate's Victorian and Edwardian stone villas often have high ceilings, unheated cellars and lofts with little ventilation. Sandstone absorbs moorland rain on exposed sides.

S70–S75 · South Yorkshire

Barnsley's former colliery terraces and inter-war council estates often have solid or poorly filled cavity walls and small, unventilated bathrooms. Hillside streets catch cold westerly winds off the Pennines.

S60–S66 · South Yorkshire

Rotherham mixes Victorian brick terraces near the Don with large post-war estates and newer airtight builds. Low-lying riverside streets carry extra ground moisture.

BD20–BD22 · West Yorkshire

Keighley's gritstone mill terraces in the Aire and Worth valleys face heavy Pennine rain, and many have solid walls with no cavity to insulate.

WF12, WF13, WF17 · West Yorkshire

The Heavy Woollen District around Dewsbury and Batley is full of stone and brick terraces, back-to-backs and converted mill housing, often with small rear bathrooms and little extraction.

YO11–YO13 · North Yorkshire

Scarborough's Victorian guest houses, converted flats and seafront terraces take salt-laden wind and rain, and many holiday lets sit empty and unheated over winter.

WF7–WF11 · West Yorkshire

The Five Towns area has a lot of former mining terraces and post-war council housing, plus newer estates around Glasshoughton with tight construction and minimal extraction.

HU17 · East Yorkshire

Beverley's Georgian and Victorian town houses and period cottages have solid walls and breathable lime construction that modern paints and sealed windows can trap moisture in.

BD23 · North Yorkshire

Skipton and the Craven Dales have stone cottages, farmhouses and terraces with thick, uninsulated walls exposed to some of the heaviest rainfall in Yorkshire.

YO8 · North Yorkshire

Selby sits low on the Ouse floodplain with clay soils and a high water table, and its older brick terraces have a history of flooding.
